2019 International Neurosciences Conference
An important conference presenting all the latest scientific developments in the field of Molecular Neurobiology took place on May 7-10 at Fodele Beach & Water Park Holiday Resort.
The Conference was organized by the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) in collaboration with the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH) in Heraklion under the title “Cell Biology of the Neuron: Polarity, Plasticity and Regeneration”.
During the conference, interesting research findings were presented and discussed in topics such as brain function, neuron communication, memory and learning. Moreover, new findings were presented concerning the mechanisms of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and other disorders of the nervous system, including recent developments in rehabilitation, prevention and cure.
The International Neurosciences Conference was also a great opportunity to highlight the important role of Crete as a unique scientific ecosystem that promotes new collaborations between top research and academic institutions internationally.
The conference hosted 22 distinguished speakers from internationally acclaimed academic and research institutions, such as Harvard (USA), Stanford (USA), Cambridge (UK), Columbia (USA), University of Lausanne (Switzerland), among others, while more than 150 scientists participated.
Top Neuroscientists from 13 Countries in Fodele Beach Resort
CamBioScience, the life science division Cambridge (UK) based OBRIZUM Group, chose Fodele Beach Resort in Crete to host an international conference on mid-brain development on May 12, 2019.
The specialist conference was titled “Development of the Dopaminergic System from Stem Cells to Circuits” (DDSSCC) and attracted a number of world experts in neuroscience at the luxurious Fodele Beach Resort who came to exchange ideas and knowledge in this promising research field that investigates how our mid-brain, the part of our brains that is affected in dementia and Parkinson’s disease, forms in the womb. The scope was to explore new opportunities for regenerative medicine in such important neurological disorders, since dementia and Parkinson’s disease affect over 50 million people worldwide.
The speakers and delegates who participated gathered from 13 countries all around the world and 3 continents (North America, Europe, and Asia) to present their research, network, and discuss the future of the field at the luxurious conference facilities of Fodele Beach Resort.
